My old professional website is pretty thoroughly out of date, so this is just a placeholder for now. At the moment, this site mostly exists for sharing professional projects in a more formal place than my personal site.
I am a Professor and Department Chair of Physics and Engineering at Alma College in Alma, Michigan. (I have previously served a term as Associate Provost here, and prior to coming to Alma I was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics at the Joint Science Department at the Claremont Colleges, serving CMC, Pitzer, and Scripps.) I received my Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Chicago, studying string theory under Jeff Harvey. As an undergraduate, I majored in Physics and Math at Harvey Mudd College (also in Claremont); my thesis there was on general relativity.
As one past project, I've made a nice poster of the planets to scale for the Alma planetarium.
